A winner x3
Of all the summer shows, Weeds has the best soundtrack songs. The songs that play during the end credits on each episode are always something special, and they rarely fail in making me SoundHound the song and bookmark it for later use.
“Trouble Me” is truly something special, call it Jazz, call it Soul, or just call it pure good music.
There is not one drop of doubt of how capable of an artist Miranda Lambert is, she’s one of country music’s current crowning jewels. As a side project, Lambert has formed Pistol Annies, an all-girl country trio consisting of Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley. The trio released their debut single “Hell On Heels” two months ago, with a full album to be released sometime in August. On “Hell On Heels”, each verse has a lady singing about an ex-lover and the best things—material things—that came out of said relationship. Fans of country music in general and of Lambert specifically will fall head first over this one.
Ms. Braxton is finally (and officially) back! After many leaked songs, a proper first single saw the light yesterday (no pun intended). The track sounds like a Ryan Tedder track (it could’ve easily been a Leona Lewis’ single). Her voice is stronger than the hard-hitting drums. This is definitely one of the best comeback singles this year (it and Whitney’s Million Dollar Bill).
PS: This post is dedicated to Abdullah at p0ach.

I’ve written about it here, but now the real thing has leaked, full HQ and all. To be honest I hated it at first, but it has tendency to stick in one’s mind, some 10 listens or so, I like it. Long story short, it’s a grower.
I hope she has better things up her sleeve. Get it girl.

Less than a year after winning the fifth series of the hit UK show The X Factor, Alexandra Burke is back on the scene with a blazing new tune. I will not talk much about the song, but all you need to know is that the song is a hard hitting uptempo number that features A LOT of sirens (sometimes annoying), and a clap along breakdown towards the end. Is it good though? Yes. Is it that good? No.

“Woah, woah, and I will never leave ya” is bound to get stuck in your head for the next few days after hearing the song, granted. Tinchy and Amelle are taking over the UK charts, currently at #1 in the midweeks and most likely still be #1 on Sunday when the chart gets published. This is Tinchy’s second #1 (I’m already assuming it is) from his debut album, which is no easy feat for a new artist. Amelle has always had a special place in my heart ever since she joined the Sugababes, and I’m very happy to see her first non-Sugababes project proven fruitful. I just hope this won’t boost her ego too much to leave the group, because frankly, I don’t think the group can survive a fourth line-up.
Song: Perfect Stranger
Artist: Leona Lewis
Album: Untitled yet.
In short: This is one of the three songs that leaked yesterday, and it is the best of the bunch. I like the idea behind the song (psychotherapy/hypnosis to erase him from her mind). The pre-chorus is “Doctor, doctor, please, are you sure that I won’t recognize him if we should walk right past each other?” one time, and “Doctor, doctor, please guarantee that I won’t fall again for the way he looks so deep into me” the other. I like it, and I really can’t wait for her new album, I’m sure as hell that Simon will not disappoint.

I didn’t know what Whitney’s comeback single would exactly sound like, first I thought it will an epic ballad, then thought maybe she’s opting for something more uptempo, say.. a Darkchild track, and so on. When the song finally leaked, I listened to it thinking I’d hate it, but surprise, surprise, I don’t. It’s a ballad, but it’s a very light song, very easy on the ear, nothing too complicated, just her colossal voice accompanied by a piano. The song may not do as well as they’re hoping, but I know I like it, and that’s all the matters, right? yes? good.
I have always had a soft spot for punk-bands, ones that annunciate not scream. I love Mayday Parade the most, they’re probably my favorite punk-band. I have recently come across this song, courtesy of Parachute (a band I have never heard about), and the song is just beautiful. It’s nothing too special, it’s very simple actually, but there’s just something undeniably charming about its simplicity.
