Neurosis: The iTunes Complex

Picture 2Us music lovers differ on our complexes, some can’t enjoy a song without having all of the album, some just can’t listen to anything that has a Bit Rate quality less than 192 Kbps, some refuses to add a song to their library when its artwork is unavailable…etc. and the list goes on. I can happily/sadly say that I have all of these symptoms. I can’t enjoy a certain song if I couldn’t find an artwork (this is more common with arabic songs than english ones), and sometimes I end up either deleting the song, or creating an artwork with our lovely friend Photoshop. Anything below 192 kbps is noise to my ears, granted there are some songs that are -128 kbps somewhere in my library, but most of them are from the Kazaa age. I don’t know if there are other people who suffer the same complex. I’ll leave you with snapshots of my loving library.

List: 7 Weird Post-death Rituals

CemeteryThere are over a million tribe in our world, and you can only imagine the rituals and traditions of said tribes. Here’s a list of  7 of the weird ways tribes deal with death.

Mountains7. Mountains of Silence
Zoroastrians believe the body is impure and shouldn’t pollute the earth after death through burial or cremation. Instead, the deceased are brought to a ceremonial “tower of silence”, usually located on an elevated mountain plateau, and left exposed to the animals and elements. When the bones have been dried and bleached by the sun, they are gathered and dissolved in lime.

Tree6. Tree Burials
Because ground burials are passé, Indigenous tribes in many parts of the world discovered that the best way of disposing the dead was to put them up high. Groups in Australia, British Columbia, the American southwest and Siberia were known to practice tree burial, which involved wrapping the body in a shroud or cloth and placing it in a crook to decompose.
