Falling In Love Again (Can’t Help It) – Christina Aguilera

spiritThe song from The Spirit, it’s a haunting electro-pop song in the vein of Goldfrapp’s Seventh Tree. It sounds like nothing she has down, and yet is 100% her. I love it, and can’t wait for a proper HQ of the song.

Christina Aguilera closing ‘The Spirit’

spirit-poster12It has been officially confirmed that Christina Aguilera will have a song in Frank Miller’s upcoming thriller ‘The Spirit’, but not sure whether or not it’ll be during the closing credits. She is listed in the credits as a “song performer” on Hollywood.com.

Leona’s latest single

In case you didn’t know, ‘I Will Be’ is the next US single to be taken off Leona’s highly successful album ‘Spirit’. The song is produced by Dr. Luke [Avril’s Girlfriend, Katy’s I Kissed A Girl..etc.] and written by Max Martin and Avril Lavigne. I personally prefer Avril’s version of the song, even though I know that Leona’s voice is 100x better than Avril’s, but her voice gives the song a less cliched feeling that Leona seems to induce. Listen and compare.

PS: I added Christina’s ‘I Will Be’ [which is a whole different song] just for the heck of it, since it’s a bit rare and not a lot of people have heard it, oh and for the fact that it is twice as good as both songs combined ūüôā

Song Of The Day

Song: Impossible
Artist: Christina Aguilera
Album: Stripped
In short: One of my all-time favorite songs. Christina doing what she does best, singing a heartfelt song with¬†unparalleled¬†¬†piano arrangements courtesy of none other than Ms. Alicia Keys herself. I wish she’d stick to thus kind of music instead of her¬†pseudo-electro direction she’s taking now. The new album, slated for summer ’09 release should be¬†saviour-ed¬†by Sia Furler, Alison Goldfrapp and ¬†Ladytron [even though I’m not a huge fan of the latter two, but LOOOOVE SiA] so hopefully the material will be lot better than that heard on her GH compilation, call my¬†cynical¬†but it’ll probably pale in comparison to Stropped, but if she wants a new direction her best choices are: Soul [not retro] and Rock, i’m in for both.
