Whitney Houston

Artist: Whitney Houston
Album: I Look To You
Release date: August 28
Label: Arista

After a 7-year hiatus, Whitney Houston is back with I Look To You. I will try and make this review focus more on the music than on the person, even tough it’s hard. But, we all know the story from the debut to the breakdown and break-up.

SoundCloud: Impossible – Christina Aguilera

SoundCloud is the flicker of music. People can upload music to it, while having the “AWESOME” feature to leave comment at certain parts of the song. I have never been a fan of Flicker sing photography isn’t really my forte, but I can see myself all over SoudCloud since well.. yep.

This is the first song that came to mind when I was to upload one, you can download it too through it, I think.

Lovey-dovey, the Chocolate method!

chocolate2-208-1jpgChocolate, the tastiest ingredient on earth, here refers to the tastiest songs, music, and artists. No one sings love songs like black people, no racism, no strings attached, it’s just facts. Soul music, R&B, Motown, are all primarily black music, and love is the subject of 99% of those songs. So here’s a little compilation of love sings, that’s sure to put a smile on your pretty face when heard! So hurry up and get loadin’.

jillJill Scott:
Come See Me
All I
He Loves Me [Lyzel In E Flat] (Live In Paris)

I could sleep to the sound of Jill talking, let alone singing, here’re some of her best love-filled songs, her writing is immense, especially the second and third ones! Fact: Janet Jackson said Come See Me is her favorite track off Jill’s album while promoting Why Did I Get Married? in which they starred alongside each other.

toniToni Braxton:
I Wanna Be (Your Baby)

I know it’s not her best, but I love that song, it came up while shuffling, and I just stood still listening to the lyrics defining and dissecting a love so strong, and “laying it on the line”

jjackonJanet Jackson:
Spending Time With You
Any Time, Any Place
Love 2 Love
No one does sexy love ballad like Ms. Jackson, a song that’s very underrated and ignored is “Love 2 Love” which I think is beyond great, the beat, the vocals, the overall production, it’s a hard-hitting one!

lhillLauryn Hill:
Nothing Even Matter
I won’t say a word, listen to the lyrics.

akeysAlicia Keys:
Never Felt This Way (Interlude)
Taken from her debut album, this beautifully crafted interlude was dismissed/ignored by the public because of it being a mere interlude, I think it’s better than half of the album, if you’ve never heard and you like any Alicia song, just make sure to grab it while it’s here!

alarriAmel Larriuex:
For Real
Make Me Whole
“Make Me Whole” is a modern classic, or it should be. It’s the IT song for lovers, not exaggerating when I say it’s one of the best songs I have heard my whole life. For Real is just beautiful, the high-notes towards the end are crazy, didn’t know she had it in her!

1st & Love
“1st & Love” is one of the best songs on Brandy’s latest LP, it stood out immediately, it has a killer hook, an epic chorus, and beautiful cutesy lyrics! “Fall” is also a gem of hers, “When you find someone that means so much to you, giving all you got is easy to do

Lyrics: Earreading [4]

fire-flames-1jpg“You live, you learn. You love, you burn“-Alicia Key’s “Lesson Learned (Feat. John Mayer)

I missed making Gems posts, today I have 8 songs for you to download, love and overplay, enjoy!

aliciaNever Felt This Way (Interlude) – Alicia Keys
This interlude can be found on her debut album, the lyrics and emotional delivery of Ms. Keys is unparalleled, and it’s no different this time, she shines all through the 2 mis interlude.

untitled-2Not Fair – Lily Allen
Remember Not Big from her debut album? This is its big sister song. It’s Lily’s next single, one of the best on the album, and quite brilliant to be honest. The story is about her having the perfect boyfriend, who “treats her with respect, tells her that he loves, and calls her 15 times a day” but fails to “make her scream in bed”. The chorus is addictive, “It’s not fair, and I think you’re really mean, I think you’re really mean”.

meganPorcelain Doll – Megan McCauley
Big vocals, and soft piano arrangement. Basically a depressing song, but a BEAUTIFUL depressing song, I downloaded Megan’s album not sure what to expect, I didn’t like it much, except for this song, she can really sing. You’ll like this.

pinkIt’s All Your Fault – P!nk
P!nk is genius, every thing she does, every lyric she sing, she makes it her own. This is my favorite song off Funhouse, and I wish beyond wishing that it never gets released as a single, that would ruin its magic. Although this sounds A LOT like Kelly Clarkson, I don’t think it would’ve been half as good if it was sung by her, and I love her. The song is about suicide if you didn’t get the lyrics.

jloI Got You – Jennifer Lopez
Darkchild is my favorite producer, and I especially love her producing that are tinged with eastern styled music, and this is a fine example of that. Found on J-Lo’s flop of an album Rebirth, which I quite  liked, poor J-Lo.

maroonMakes Me Wonder (Just Blaze Remix) – Maroon 5
If you liked the original, you’re most definitely going to go bonkers after this remix.

kellyEvery Thought Is You – Kelly Rowland
The only thing to salvage from Kelly’s album.

jescaLove Is All We Have – Jesca Hoop
A very beautiful song about Katrina the hurricane, the lyrics are touching, and Jesca’s voice soars in every single second throughout the song. Her voice is very distinctive.
